Joel Peller is the Managing Attorney of Block, Colucci, Spellman & Peller, LLC in Lake Placid, a full service real estate law firm. Joel is licensed to practice law in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts and concentrates his practice in commercial and residential real estate, mortgage finance and title insurance. He is holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Syracuse University and a Juris Doctorate from Ohio Northern University College of Law. Joel brings over 29 years of legal and not for profit experience to the Board. Joel is married to Debra Spellman, also an attorney with the Firm. Joel is originally from Clifton Park in Saratoga County where he served as a Town Attorney for 15 years. He was the assigned attorney to the Clifton Park’s very active Planning and Zoning Board and gained invaluable municipal law experience. After having commuted for some 12 years from the Capital District to Lake Placid, Joel and Debbie decided to make Lake Placid their full-time home in 2019. When not in the office, Joel enjoys running his extensive model train collection, reading, hiking using his Eagle Scout training and taking care of the family camp in Loon Lake. Being a trained percussionist himself, Joel continues to appreciate all types of music and enjoys the diverse offerings at the LPCA.
