Suzanne Hokanson

About the Instructor

Suzanne enjoys creating something totally unique by experimenting with the surface. Her handwoven pieces are like paintings; the warped loom becomes her canvas where she plays with different colors, textures, and fibers to create something special – something she could never be reproduced by a machine – human, warm, and vibrant.

Suzanne has woven on everything from simple cardboard and potholder looms to multi-shaft floor looms and jacquard looms, always finding ways to unlock each ones potential.

A retired teacher, Suzanne has been weaving for 45 years. She and her husband Bob and their Sheepadoodle Kaz recently moved back to Plattsburgh from Savannah, GA. Summers are spent on their sailboat on Lake Champlain.
