Let's explore the beautiful subtleties of a sunlit snow scene! We will explore how to "see" value and temperature shifts in this type of scene. Along the way, we'll discuss ways to avoid some common stumbling points in a complex scene!
Materials:
- Rigid painting panel 9"x12" aspect ratio with white surface (we will be toning it during class.)
- Oil colors: White, Cool Yellow (Cadmium Yellow Light), Warm Yellow (Cadmium Yellow Medium), Cool Red (Quinacridone Red), Warm Red (Cadmium Red Scarlet), Blue (Ultramarine Blue), and Blue (Cobalt Blue)
- Mineral Spirits
- Paper Towels
- Brushes: an array of synthetic (soft) long and short flatspaper (or sketchbook).
- Pencil
- Eraser
