Through the Trees with Kari Ganoung Ruiz (Online Class) Aug 25th 5:30-7:30 (Oils, Advanced Beginners and Up)
Class Description:
In this class session, we will be switching things up by using a palette of 4 colors plus white! We will be working on how to capture a backlit scene and how to capture the feeling of looking out through trees in a forest. Kari will demonstrate the compositional sketch, initial block in, and painting finish using oil color; paint along or sit back and enjoy the ride!
Materials:
rigid panel with white, smooth surface we will be toning during class, choose a size your comfortable with in the landscape format
oil colors: White Cadmium Yellow Light or Cadmium Lemon Pyrrole Orange Quinacridone Red or Alizarin Crimson Indanthrene Blue
mineral spirits, paper towels, paper (or sketchbook), pencil, eraser
brushes: an assortment of long and short flats
