Discovering new color expression using alternate primaries!
-Advanced Beginners and up, for oils and acrylics.
In this class we will be choosing and mixing 3 colors and using them as our primaries in a painting! We will explore how this creates beautiful color harmonies and can lead to the discovery of unique ways of capturing light.
Before class, choose 3 tube colors (yellow, red, blue) and paint your own color wheel! Make it as simple as you like; I find it helpful to border mine with the white I'll be using and mixing tints of each color using that white.
- Keep these 3 tube colors handy
- Be sure color wheel is dry
- Cut 3 strips of white paper, each large enough to span your color wheel
rigid painting panel with white surface (we will be toning it during class) you choose dimension.
