LPCA to Screen Broadway Production of OF MICE AND MEN

Lake Placid, NY: The Lake Placid Center for the Arts (LPCA) will present the Broadway production of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men on the LPCA big screen as a part of its National Theatre Live Program. The production, which stars James Franco, Chris O'Dowd and Leighton Meester, will be screened on Thursday, January 8 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $16, $14 for LPCA Members, and $10 for students. The critically-acclaimed Broadway revival of John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro, starring Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner James Franco, BAFTA and Tony Award nominee Chris O'Dowd, Leighton Meester and Tony and Olivier Award winner Jim Norton, filmed at Broadway's Longacre Theatre in front of a live audience by National Theatre Live, will be screened in over 700 cinema venues across the United States and Canada.

Of Mice and Men began as a novella published in 1937 by Nobel Prize winning author John Steinbeck.

Adapted from his own classic novel, John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men is an essential adventure, an inspirational portrait of the American spirit and a heartbreaking testament to the bonds of friendship.

Of Mice and Men tells the story of George (James Franco) and Lennie (Chris O'Dowd), an unlikely pair of friends drifting from job to job across the farms and fields of California, holding fast to their dream of one day having an acre of land they can call their own.

Lake Placid Center for the Arts

The Lake Placid Center for the Arts is a year-round performing and visual Arts Facility.  Located in the Adirondack Park of Northern New York, the LPCA consistently presents arts of the highest caliber in music, dance and theatre performances, film exhibitions and visual arts presentations. 

In addition, the Arts Center provides special arts-in education programs, workshops and residencies for aspiring and renowned artists.
