Rusty DeWees, The Logger

Blue Collar Comedy meets Prairie Home Companion

DeWees says "The Lake Placid/Saranac Lake area is perfect for my TINY TOWN HALL TOUR. LPCA has a cozy feel ... it'll be some fun having some fun in it."

Actor/Comedian Rusty DeWees is known for his The Logger persona— full-on comedian, burgeoning musician, —Rusty's one-man comedy shows are best described as Blue Collar Comedy meets Prairie Home Companion. “Easy to love the core Vermont and New York Adirondack areas: I’ve played them deferentially, and with great affection dozens of times - area audiences feel like old friends at this point … “

Rusty offers a glimse: “For the Tiny Town Hall Tour I’ll perform an all-new set of original comedy, and I’ll perform an original poignant piece Vermont Farmers will especially understand. I’ll throw in a classic Logger “bit” or two, sing, play guitar, and of course there’ll be crowd work, so don’t come late … or sneeze if you don’t want to be in the show.”

Asked why he’s settling into smaller venues like the 355-seat LPCA, DeWees explains “North Country communities work hard to preserve their local arts spaces and theatres, and I’ll be blessed to play a good number of them the next few years. Smaller halls are great and are like old guitars … they’re more fun to play, and the sound is better cause I can go acoustic. As I go forward in life, I’ll enjoy going backward in time regarding showman style and substance.”

Fresh comedy, and fantastically good music “got me a 1967 Martin D-28, come hear it at LPCA, it’s a beauty,” are the course of this Tiny Town Hall Rusty DeWees The Logger Tour that’s been referred to as a very uniquely modern, yet old-tyme traditional evening of entertainment, for all ages, longtime fans, and first timers. Rusty adds “show up on a lawn or farm tractor, get in free. One person per tractor.”

The Boston Globe says, The Logger is: “Inventive, entertaining, exceptional”

...dedicated to presenting and fostering quality arts, which inspire, enrich, educate and entertain people of all ages.
