Run the Colors of the Arts
Saturday, August 13 at the Heaven Hill Farm and Trails (302 Bear Cub Lane in Lake Placid)
Registration: 9 am to 9:45 am; Race Time: 10:00 am
Take one casual 5k(ish) running event, add an extraordinary amount of powder paint, and you get one colorful race benefitting the LPCA!
Be transformed into a running rainbow as you run through vibrant colors at each color station you pass. Not a runner? Not a problem! You can walk, skip, hop, or roll your way to the finish line! This un-timed, non-competitive event is for everyone from young to the young at heart, you're going to LOVE it! Add some color to your life and come out to benefit the LPCA!

You can register online by clicking here! We encourage everyone to pre-register before the race. Registation will include paying your race fee and filling out a short form with your contact informaiton. You can register for the race in a number of ways:
- Register online. Registering in advance saves you $5! You can register in person before the race starting at 9:00 AM.
- Give the Box Office a call at 518.523.2512. Visa, MasterCard and Discover are accepted over the phone.
- Visit the Box Office at 17 Algonquin Drive in Lake Placid. Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Cash and Check are all accepted at the Box Office.
- Register the morning of the run at the Heaven Hill Farm (but you'll pay $5 more than if you registered in advance).
Read, sign and save your waiver: Bring your waiver with you to check-in on race day. Participants under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign their waiver. You can download the waiver here.
From Saranac Lake and points west: Take Route 86 towards Lake Placid. Look for sign to the Olympic Ski Jumps and turn RIGHT onto Old Military Road. At about 3 miles (just past Olympic Training Center on your left and Uihlein Mercy Center on your right), turn RIGHT onto Bear Cub Lane. Drive 1.5 miles to Heaven Hill Farm, which will be on your right. Continue up the long driveway to the farmhouse.
From Wilmington and points north: Take Route 86 to Lake Placid and turn LEFT at the traffic light onto Route 73. At 0.6 miles bear RIGHT at Adirondack Corner Store, then at 0.1 miles turn LEFT onto Church Street. Follow Church Street to stop sign. Continue across Street (Old Military Road) to Bear Cub Lane. Drive 1.5 miles to Heaven Hill Farm, which will be on your right. Continue up the long driveway to the farmhouse.
What to bring:
First - an amazing desire to dance, jump around and get colorful. But you might also want to bring a few other items for during and after the race. Some suggestions include:
- Signed waiver
- Water bottle
- Bandana - some color runners like to wear a bandana to cover their nose/mouth
- Sunglasses or goggles
- Change of clothes
- Camera / cell phone in a zip lock bag (just to be safe)
- Towels or tarps for your car seats (just to be safe)
- Payment for registration if you did not pre-register
- Some extra cash for our post-run picnic treats and activities.
Bring your signed waiver
Don't forget your signed waiver! Each participant should have a waiver to turn in to our volunteers at check-in. If you forget, we'll have extra copies at check-in. However, we strongly encourage everyone to fill out and bring it with you to ensure a smooth and speedy check-in for everyone!
Arrival: 9:00 am to 9:45 at the Heaven Hill Farm
Arrive early. Allow plenty of time to get prepped for start time. Volunteers will be checking in and registering runners and walkers.
Starting Line: 9:30 am
Runners who have finished checking in are welcome to start lining up as early as they please. Our announcer will start corralling runners toward the starting line at 9:30 am. Get there early to have your pick of spots!
Race Starts at 10:00 am! Let Your Colors Fly!
General Rules: Please be respectful of everyone around you. If you are running with a stroller, please start at the back of the pack. If you are running with small children, please watch and direct them through the race. If you are concerned at all with any part of the color experience, feel free to wear safety glasses, a bandana or a dust mask.
At the Finish Line
You just ran the craziest 5k of your life! Celebrate! If you are meeting someone afteward, it is helpful to know that some of the faster color runners could finish within 25 minutes, while it might take some of our brisk walkers a little over an hour to finish the course.
After the race, celebrate with our post-race picnic. Refreshments will be available. Enjoy food, fun and the great post-race visuals.
