Rebecca Kelly Ballet

NYC-based Rebecca Kelly Ballet returns to the LPCA

"Top-notch dance" "an annual Crowd-Pleaser" reported Lake Placid Visitors Bureau. In 2016 RKB guarantees another program brimming with energy and style. Rebecca Kelly Ballet combines an engaging blend of classical and contemporary dance, in a program that highlights the individuality of featured dancers. Dancers soar, sail, and spin through new and repertory chamber works that explore human challenges and social issues.

The 2016 season will transport you with evocative ideas and moods.

Desire, (2010) considers the many facets of desire, in expressions of sensuous beauty to restless longing, and fractured timing. The music is set to the arresting sounds of the Finnish cello metal band, Apocolyptica.

Cascade, (2015) called a "must see premiere" last season is about water, its movement from appearance to disappearance, a reflection of the swirling, rushing, and still character of water.

Based in New York City, Rebecca Kelly Ballet continues its long association with the North Country region building community through participation in the arts. Since the 1980's it has conducted programs from Plattsburgh to Potsdam, and now with the creation of the Tahawus Center, a cultural center in Au Sable Forks, it has established permanent roots.
