A Gallery Showing at the LPCA Featuring the Work of Patricia Bellerose
Opening Night is Thursday, July 14th 2022 from 5-7pm!
Together in Harmony:
A collection of expressive musical moments that depict the colors, sounds and emotion at the heart of orchestral music-making.
With a harmonious blend of contrast, light, texture and shape, artist Patricia Bellerose conveys the focus, movement and energy emanating from the musicians on stage.
Patricia Bellerose is an artist from Québec, Canada for whom music and musicians are among her favorite subjects of inspiration. For Together in Harmony she has created a series of works depicting orchestral musicians. Patricia explains,
"I like to capture the musicians' emotion and their focus. It is the pictorial construction that drives me; the play between color and contrast. Instruments, musicians and lecterns create a wavy pattern into the painting, evoking music. I am fascinated that with light, texture and shapes we are able to suggest movement and express music. Oil is an exciting medium and I get a lot of pleasure by exploring it every day."
The exhibit will include a collaboration with the Lake Placid Sinfonietta, featuring original paintings inspired by rehearsals and performances taking place here in Lake Placid.
