The OnStage Summer Intensive has engaged local and visiting students in a dynamic pre-professional program for over 25 years. Open to new dance students and those with years of experience, OnStage provides exposure to the field of professional dance  and countless opportunities for fun, personal growth, and improved technique.

Advanced - 12-20 yrs

Must have minimum of 3 years dance training taking bi-weekly+ classes (or 2 past OnStage Plus experiences, and at the discretion of Rebecca Kelly or by audition).

Students receive over 30 hours/week of instruction between 9am-3:30pm, including a daily morning regimen; afternoons spent in classical ballet technique, stretch, pointe, contemporary and specialty classes; choreography tailored by Rebecca Kelly; OS repertory rehearsals; stage craft; opportunities to observe RKB's professional rehearsals; and participation in concluding performances. 

OnStage Plus - 11-14 yrs

 For intermediate level dancers. 

In addition to the morning schedule, OnStage Plus students join Advanced students for one ballet class/week and two extended days participating in two specialty classes. Students will also observe RKB company rehearsals in the afternoon. Must have been taking weekly dance classes for two years. Two years in the Plus level is recommended for eligibility to the Advanced program. 

OnStage Basic - 1/2 Day, 7-14 yrs

For dancers at every level of experience.

Students explore movement, develop dance technique, and learn choreography and presentation skills from 9am - noon. 

Kids Co-Motion tm I - 2-3 yrs

Students learn with an adult guardian present. 

Led by Craig Brashear, Director of Creative Movement. The course focuses on skill-building through choreography and song, featuring a range of music. Dads and grandparents are welcome! 

Kids Co-Motion tm II - 4-5 yrs

Students learn without an adult guardian present. 

Led by Craig Brashear, Director of Creative Movement. The course focuses on skill-building through choreography and song, featuring a range of music. 

Kids Co-Motion tm III - 5-6+ yrs

Students learn without an adult guardian present. 

Led by Craig Brashear, Director of Creative Movement. Developing independence, the course builds on skill-building through choreography and song, featuring a range of music. Students in this level perform with their instructor in the OnStage performance. 

 Cancellation Policy

• Contact us at least 6 days before the course date, and we will refund the cost of the program minus a 15% enrollment fee.
• Contact us 5 days or less before the course date (within the week of the course), and your payment will convert to a tax deductible donation.

Lake Placid Center for the Arts

The Lake Placid Center for the Arts is a year-round performing and visual Arts Facility.  Located in the Adirondack Park of Northern New York, the LPCA consistently presents arts of the highest caliber in music, dance and theatre performances, film exhibitions and visual arts presentations. 

In addition, the Arts Center provides special arts-in education programs, workshops and residencies for aspiring and renowned artists.

The Arts Center is the home of the Lake Placid School of Ballet, LPCA Children's Theatre, Community Theatre Players, as well as the Summer home of the Lake Placid Sinfonietta.
