Oils, Advanced Beginners and Up, Meet outside the LPCA's Annex Building at the start of class
About the Class
Come and paint outdoors with us! In this workshop, Dennon Walantus will demonstrate the techniques he uses with oil paint to capture a landscape painting en plein air - outdoors. This workshop will be taught outdoors at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts, and students will be painting from life.
Dennon typically paints small paintings en plein air out in the landscape. He will bring his typical process outdoors with you to create a painting of the Adirondacks within a single day session!
When painting en plein air, artists can capture a moment in time that is affected by elements of nature while working. This becomes an immersive experience that can create a more abstracted painting while battling these elements and a learning experience every time a new work is started.
