The Lake Placid School of Ballet and Dance provides a center for dance excellence in the Adirondack region, nurturing and training dancers of all ages and offering superb community performances. The LPSBD was founded by Michela Boschetto and is currently managed by Terpsie Toon.
Incoming students can choose between 3 tracks of study:
Ballet Training Program
Our Ballet Training Program is serious ballet training for beginners with a passion for dance and experienced students looking for professional instruction in a nurturing and respectful environment. The program includes the American Ballet Theatre's breakthrough 8-level program that combines high-quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. Students in the Ballet Training Program have the option of also adding an Adventures in Dance class for a lower rate!
Children's Enrichment Classes
Our Children’s Enrichment Classes are the first building block of our dance education program. Classes are designed to allow boys and girls to explore a number of different disciplines while they learn movement through music, develop physical skills, channel energy and stimulate imagination and creativity. Classes in this program are a natural springboard to our Ballet Training Program and Adventures in Dance. These classes are offered without a full-year commitment.
Adventures in Dance
Adventures in Dance are for students looking to expand upon what they have learned in the past at the LPSB&D, or to reignite their love of a number of difference dance disciplines. These classes are offered without a full-year commitment.
