About the Class
Let's explore Coloring Your Garden with Cynthia Rosen!
Here is Van Gogh's Garden With Flowers painted in 1888. Van Gogh painted this garden several times when the blooms were different.
This is your chance to input your own blooms following Van Gogh's composition.
Do you want to focus on this more limited palette with a huge variety of greens? Are you wanting to practice mixing greens? Will do some in this workshop!
This is also the perfect opportunity to explore what we refer to as mark-making, that is; creating an image using small deliberate marks as opposed to the fluid stroke created by 'brushing'. You can brush your beautiful colors in this workshop or choose to make marks that create direction to fill your page. This is where your own personal artistic voice comes in.
Materials
- Paints - Your palette can be a host to a lot of blues, greens and yellow or go full board with a wide range of colors and color this garden to your liking!
- Surface size: Your choice!
- Brushes: I prefer synthetics and I would suggest brush sizes 10 or 12, 7 or 8 (partly brand dependent) and a 2 or 3.
- Palette Knife (optional): RGM 50 or 46.
