Watercolors Advanced Beginner's and Up

Join us for this landscape watercolor workshop as we explore working in layers, backlighting, paint application and texture for"Chicory and Queen Anne's Lace". Paint along if you like or sit back and just watch. The video will be available for one month for you to replay and practice. Please have the painting sketched out in advance.

What's on my palette: Jaune Brilliant #1, Cad yellow, Cad orange, Cad Red, Perm Rose, Alizarin Crimson, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Brown Madder, Yellow Ochre, Lavender, Cerulean, Cobalt Blue, Cobalt Turquoise Light, Ultramarine Blue, Viridian, Paynes Gray, Neutral Tint

This is my standard palette that I will use for all workshops. You do not have to use the same colors that I do.

Brushes-I will be using flat and round brushes

I will be using masking fluid for this tutorial

Paper-I will be using Arches 140lb Cold press for this painting and will be working on a14x20 format. Please paint whatever size you like!

Firm backing board, Masking tape, Water container, Sponge, Hair Dryer, Paper Towels, reference photo printed out

Lake Placid Center for the Arts

The Lake Placid Center for the Arts is a year-round performing and visual Arts Facility.  Located in the Adirondack Park of Northern New York, the LPCA consistently presents arts of the highest caliber in music, dance and theatre performances, film exhibitions and visual arts presentations. 

In addition, the Arts Center provides special arts-in education programs, workshops and residencies for aspiring and renowned artists.

The Arts Center is the home of the Lake Placid School of Ballet, LPCA Children's Theatre, Community Theatre Players, as well as the Summer home of the Lake Placid Sinfonietta.
