Ballet Technique for Skaters

Improve your skills with techniques from ballet!

Being a skater requires a lot of balance, agility, leg strength, poise and more! This ballet class will be directly catering to the needs of skaters looking to improve their skills. Miss Emily will work on spotting techniques, leg strength, leaps, balance techniques and stamina through exercises and some fun routines as well! Modifications will be made to daily routines to accommodate different ages and abilities.

Drop-ins are welcome! The rate is $15 per class, payable by cash or check only at the door. 

About the Instructor: Emily Brown

Emily Brown grew up dancing competitively in Buffalo, NY for 15+ years. She has learned from and worked beside many noteworthy choreographers from LA and NYC. Since her move to Lake Placid in 2015 she has taken a teaching position at LPCA where she specializes in children's classes and has choreographed the musicals for a few local schools. Most recently: Guys and Dolls, Aladdin Jr. and Footloose in Tupper Lake and Annie Get Your Gun and Urinetown in Saranac Lake.


Workshop Refund Policy

  • Contact us at least 6 days before the course date, and we will refund the cost of the workshop minus a 15% enrollment fee.
  • Contact us 5 days or less before the course date (within the week of the course), and we will offer class credit for a future workshop.

Lake Placid Center for the Arts

The Lake Placid Center for the Arts is a year-round performing and visual Arts Facility.  Located in the Adirondack Park of Northern New York, the LPCA consistently presents arts of the highest caliber in music, dance and theatre performances, film exhibitions and visual arts presentations. 

In addition, the Arts Center provides special arts-in education programs, workshops and residencies for aspiring and renowned artists.

The Arts Center is the home of the Lake Placid School of Ballet, LPCA Children's Theatre, Community Theatre Players, as well as the Summer home of the Lake Placid Sinfonietta.
