The most thoroughly handcrafted instruments in the world, Steinway pianos, are as unique and full of personality as the world-class musicians who play them. However, their makers are a dying breed: skilled cabinetmakers, gifted tuners, thorough hand-crafters. This documentary follows the creation of a Steinway concert grand, #L1037--from forest floor to concert hall and explores how each Steinway is unique in this age of mass production. Interviews with both workers and world-class musicians are interspersed throughout the film.

Naturally, her parents are searching for a wealthy, well-appointed husband to assure their daughter's future social standing. When sparks fly with the decidedly non-aristocratic Tom, the couple is faced with a terrible dilemma. If they attempt to marry they will risk everything that matters - family, friends and fortune.

This Academy Award Nominee stars Laura Linney, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Philip Bosco as a family forced together under one roof, rediscovering the eccentricities that drove them crazy years before.

Set on the incendiary frontier of California's turn-of-the-century petroleum boom. The story chronicles the life and times of one Daniel Plainview, who transforms himself from a down-and-out silver miner raising a son on his own into a self-made oil tycoon. With a tip-off that will change their lives, and a lucky strike that raises all of their fortunes, nothing will remain the same as conflicts escalate and every human value--love, hope, community, belief, ambition and even the bond between father and son--is imperiled by corruption, deception and the flow of oil.
