The 2009 Manhattan Short will be held in over 150 cities across the
Americas, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Australia between the 20th
and 27th of September 2009.
The Manhattan Shorts mission is to unite audiences from all seven
continents of the globe for one week via the twelve most compelling
short films submitted each year. One World One Week One Festival is
emblazoned within the rings that surround the Festivals Logo and it is
this mantra that sets us apart from any other film event of the year.
In 2009 MSFF is inviting venues in Asia and The Middle East with
venues in Africa scheduled for 2010 and ice stations in Antarctica in
2011.
For up-and-coming filmmakers what greater test for your film is there than to be judged in cinemas by YOU - a global audience?

Reel Rock delivers the year’s most exciting climbing and adventure films to audiences in over 100 cities around the world.
Reel
Rock founders Josh Lowell and Peter Mortimer have been producing and
directing climbing and adventure films for over a decade, with devoted
audiences around the world. Their work has been featured on NBC, NPR,
and The New York Times, and has won a Sports Emmy Award, plus dozens of
awards at international film festivals.
After organizing small
tours for their individual film releases, Lowell and Mortimer realized
the huge demand for exciting live events in the outdoors community and
combined forces to create The Reel Rock Film Tour in 2006. By 2008 the
tour had grown into one of the biggest climbing events in the world,
with over 90 shows and more than 20,000 attendees.

Come to
the lab, and see what's on the slab! This notorious horror parody -- a
fast-paced potpourri of camp, sci-fi and rock 'n' roll, among other
things -- tracks the exploits of naïve couple Brad and Janet (Barry
Bostwick & Susan Sarandon) after they stumble across the lair of
transvestite vampire Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry).

(Doors open at 6:30pm)
