No over-hyped celebrities, no super-sized tickets prices, just an amazing night of comedy starring the Nobodies of Comedy! Don't let the name fool you. These young comics have paid their dues. They’ve worked every major club in the country and have been seen on Late Night shows and Comedy Central. They're not household names (yet), but they're hip, young, & hilarious.
About the comics:
Phil Hanley started standup comedy by performing at open mics around Vancouver, often in between bands at music venues. In these establishments he discovered and honed his unique blending of material and crowd interaction that makes no two of his performances the same. Phil's style can best be described as unpredictably reflective, delivered with sharp accuracy, and rooted in the grand tradition of joke-telling. Phil's performances at The 2008 Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal brought him international acclaim. His jokes were recognized in the Montreal Gazette's annual Best jokes of the Festival. He was also named one of the five comics creating a buzz at the festival by The Hollywood Reporter and rewarded with a featured segment on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Phil's other credits include appearances at the Halifax Comedy Festival, Global's Vancouver International Comedy Fest, CBC and XFM satellite radio, and his own television special on the CTV and Comedy Network - not to mention his win in the 2007 Vancouver's Funniest comic competition. And finally, one of Phil's most cherished accomplishments is being a credited screenwriter for Don Knotts' final film project. In recent years Phil has enjoyed touring Canada coast to coast, but this spring he plans to relocate to New York City and his parents plan to finally convert his childhood bedroom into a den. Tim Krompier Tim Krompier's comedy is like a delicious meat dip - a layer of autobiographical wit on the bottom, coated with physically charged character work, and scrumptiously topped with aging frat boy self deprecation. If you don't like Tim at least you know what to have for dinner... Having headlined in comedy clubs, theatres, and showcases across the country, and with weekly spots in New York City and Long Island; Tim Krompier has blossomed into a stand-up comedy maven. His mom always thinks he is blossoming into something. Tim's journey to two-drink minimum glory and sold-out shows is an unlikely one, having only been ten short years since he made his income as a break-dancer, professional party emcee, and entertainment industry lothario. His wife knows in actuality she is the only woman he has ever known outside of his mother and sisters.
Tim's been performing his whole life. As the second son in a house full of 5 sisters, he had to think of creative ways to get attention in the midst of unceasing boyfriend drama and fluctuating hormones. At the age of 6, Tim was forced into tap lessons simply because it was where his mother was dropping everyone else off. Tim was raised in a hurricane of extreme home femaleness but blessed with plenty of material that would serve him unexpectedly in his future endeavors on stage. (Check him out here!)
