Camp LPCA

 

Session 1: July 11 – 15
Session 2: August 8 – 12

Classes Meet M-F*, 9:30am - 12noon
Register Early - Limited Space Available!

Fees: $100 per one week camp session
*On Friday at 12Noon, campers' family & friends are invited to a showcase of performances and artwork creations.


It's A Jungle Out There with Erin Perkins
Session I; Ages 5-7
Our youngest campers will push up their sleeves and head out on a hands~on week of crafting jungle-themed art projects using paints, paper, paper bags, paper plates,  paper mache', and more. This exciting journey isn't for the faint of heart or children that won't embrace a messy, gooey adventure!
 
Storming the Stage with Jessica Deeb
Session I or II; Ages 6-10 
Kids will find their very own star power in this terrific theater camp. Campers will dramatize some of their favorite stories and use theater games to build confidence.  The camp will focus on fun and exploring imagination through improve & acting.  Kids will learn to express themselves with their voices, bodies and minds while morphing into crazy characters. Friday will end with a mini performance.

Junk to Funk:2d to 3d with Nip Rogers
Session I; Ages 7-12
It's time to create! Using what? How about left over junk! Let's not throw it away, let's create some cool looking art from it! Nip Rogers will be guiding kids through a week long course of creating 2D and 3D JUNK ART, through constructing, painting, collaging and any other way that we can think of to create. It's going to be fun, and if you're not careful, you may learn something about your own creativity along the way.  Campers with share their "junkyard" on Friday with fellow campers.  

Adventures in Sculpture with Mavis Miller
Session II; Ages 7-12
Mixed media, messy fun is on the menu-watch out that dessert doesn't bite!! With pinatas, puppets, and crazy creatures, there will be no stopping the creativity! We will take our inspiration from the whole wild world to create 3-D art that will be a fun to make as it is to look at!  Papermache, clay, fabric, and found objects are just some of the mediums we will explore. This week will leave you covered in color and wondering what can't be made into sculpture! Sculpt it, Show it, & love the mess with Mavis!  

Camp Rock - Finding Your Voice with Kim Weems
Session I or  II; Ages 8-13
Do you love to sing?  Come to camp and learn summer hits designed for both Boys & Girls! Practice vocal warm-ups, learn about vocal projection, blending, breathing, animation and performing.  Learn new choreography and performance techniques.  It's a great way to escape the heat and sing your favorite tunes!   Divas and vocalists alike will get to share their songs on Friday!

Away with Clay with Brooke Noble
Session I or II; Ages 8-13
Clay may come from the earth, but the sky's the limit in this ceramics camp!   From sensational sculptures to functional pottery, there is no limit to the mess of fun kids will have.  Tiles, animals, masks, coil patterned dishes & extruded artifacts are just some of the projects kids may explore.  They will use colorful & paintable low fire glazes as well as having the opportunity to dip into some high fire fun.  Finished pieces will be teaming with textures and creativity; students will have a chance to show them off to other campers at the end of the week.
