Adirondack Wind Ensemble

The Adirondack Wind Ensemble (AWE) is a professional musical ensemble of wind and percussion instruments comprised of music educators and other outstanding community musicians from around the North Country. Its performers represent every public school district in Clinton County as well as several in Franklin and Essex Counties. They have gathered in the Adirondack Wind Ensemble to share in the joy of making music. Since its founding in January of 2002 by Daniel Gordon, a member of the music faculty at Plattsburgh State, AWE has performed one or two annual concerts at various locales in Plattsburgh. This concert at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts expands AWE’s geographic base and makes the group a true “Adirondack” Wind Ensemble. The program will be a variety of chamber music and full ensemble works by Percy Grainger, Gordon Jacob, John Williams, and the Finnish composer Lasse Eerola. The concert will also feature tuba soloist JoLee Yeddo performing Jean-Baptiste Arban’s Carnival of Venice.
